MyPLAYER

Your own created player in NBA 2K27. You design it in the MyPLAYER Builder (or the NBA 2K HQ app) and take it into MyCAREER and The City. Height, weight, wingspan and ratings all come from the build.

GOAT Builds A GOAT Build is a MyPLAYER build that starts as a preset recreation of a legend or current star, made through the new GOAT Builds builder path.

Archetype

The label for a build's overall style, based on its attribute mix (for example a Signature Blueprint like "Bulldozer").

GOAT Builds 2K says every GOAT Build gets its own archetype name based on the player. None of the names are out yet; we add them to each player page from the full list once they are.

Badges

Perks that boost specific skills. 2K27 has 53 Badges across Shooting, Finishing, Playmaking, Defense, Rebounding and Physicals. You equip them with Badge Tokens, and your attributes decide which ones you qualify for.

GOAT Builds You still pick your own Badges on a GOAT Build. Per-player badge limits depend on attributes, which 2K hasn't shown yet. See the rules page.

Cap Breakers

Upgrades that push one attribute past its normal cap. 2K Support says one attribute takes at most 5, you can't undo them, and height, weight and wingspan can limit how high an attribute goes.

GOAT Builds You keep full access to Cap Breakers on GOAT Builds. The Season 2 track gives one at Level 40. How far they push a GOAT attribute is still open. Details on the rules page.

Takeovers

Boosts that kick in as you fill your Takeover meter in a game. Every MyPLAYER starts with five default Takeover slots, and you unlock Takeover Abilities and Perks as you level the build.

GOAT Builds Takeovers stay customizable on GOAT Builds. Default Takeovers for each player aren't out yet.

Signature animations

The moves that make a player look and play like himself: things like the jumper, dribble moves and dunk style.

GOAT Builds Locked on GOAT Builds, so each legend plays like himself. 2K hasn't listed which animation slots that covers. See signature animations.

REP

Your reputation ladder in NBA 2K27. You climb it by playing, and it has named tiers such as Elite and Legend, each split into levels. It's separate from your Season level.

GOAT Builds Five GOAT Builds unlock through REP: Ray Allen and Hakeem Olajuwon (Elite V), Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan (Elite VIII), and LeBron James (Legend I). See the REP and Season level guide.

Elite V, Elite VIII and Legend I

REP tier levels. Players report five REP tiers, with Elite fourth and Legend fifth, so Elite V is the fifth level of Elite, Elite VIII is three levels higher, and Legend I is the first level of the top tier. 2K hasn't shown the full ladder in its Season 2 posts.

GOAT Builds These three levels are the REP unlock points for GOAT Builds: Elite V (Ray Allen, Hakeem), Elite VIII (Rose, Jordan), Legend I (LeBron).

Season level

Your level on the Season 2 rewards track, from 1 to 40. You earn Season XP in The City, MyCAREER and MyTEAM, and progress resets when the Season ends.

GOAT Builds Three GOAT Builds sit on the track: Magic Johnson (Level 26), Dirk Nowitzki (Level 33) and Young Kobe (Level 37). See Step 2 of the unlock guide.

Pro Pass

A paid add-on to the Season. 2K describes it as "40 additional levels of NBA 2K27 rewards" with "bonus VC, XP, and Skill Boosts".

GOAT Builds You don't need it for any GOAT Build. Magic, Dirk and Young Kobe are in the main Season 2 rewards, and none of the Pro Pass rewards is a GOAT Build. The bonus XP can help you level faster.

Crew Divisions

Competitive games you play with your Crew. In Season 2 they earn Double Crew XP toward the rewards track plus a +25% REP bonus, and Patch 2.0 raises REP and Crew XP earnings there.

GOAT Builds The only official REP boost in Season 2, so it's the go-to mode if you're chasing the REP GOAT Builds.

Lifetime Challenges

A long-running challenge count that builds up over your time playing NBA 2K27.

GOAT Builds Anthony Edwards unlocks at 300 Lifetime Challenges and Wilt Chamberlain at 350, the longest grinds of Season 2. 2K hasn't said which challenges count.
